How MSPs and security providers use dark web findings to open conversations and win new clients.

Your team probably knows the feeling. The PSA queue is full, the SIEM won't stop firing, and every client wants to know whether the newest ransomware headline affects them. Analysts burn time triaging alerts that go nowhere, while the few signals that matter are buried inside noise.

You're probably dealing with one of two situations right now. Either a client still has a business Facebook account protected by a password and maybe SMS, or someone already had a scare: a suspicious login, an ad account change no one approved, or a Page admin who left the company but still has…

80% of modern security breaches involve compromised or stolen credentials, and 82% of breaches involve a human element, often tied to weak or reused credentials, according to Clutch Security's overview of identity-first security.

You're probably seeing the same pattern across clients right now. Their endpoint protection is in place, Microsoft 365 has some baseline controls, backups are tested, and patching is decent.

It's 3:07 AM on a Saturday. A client's remote access account starts pulling data it never touches, then a server begins spawning processes nobody on the day team would approve. No one's at a desk. No one's watching the dashboard.

A stolen account isn't just a login problem anymore. It's a business continuity problem, a fraud problem, and, for MSPs, a service opportunity.

You've got a new network in scope, a maintenance window is short, and nobody trusts the asset list. That's usually when a Nmap ping sweep stops being a basic command and starts becoming the first smart decision of the engagement.

A threat actor using the alias cenfecracked has claimed to leak data from the Sistema de Atención Ciudadana (SAC) operated by the Municipality of León, Guanajuato, Mexico. The uploaded screenshot shows a forum post advertising a downloadable database and displaying sample records in JSON format.

It's 8:17 a.m. and a client calls before your team has finished the first coffee. Their files are encrypted, staff can't log in to Microsoft 365, the EDR console is noisy, and the office manager wants to know whether they should shut everything down. Someone opens the incident response plan.

A client's line-of-business app locks up at 8:07 a.m. The monitoring stack throws alerts into email, Teams, and a PSA queue at the same time.

Threat intelligence is the process of turning raw data about cyber threats into actionable insights that let a business defend itself before damage happens.

Your SOC gets an alert at 8:12 a.m. A client's employee credentials have surfaced in a dark web monitoring feed. The first question isn't whether the account was exposed. It's where, who posted it, and what that context tells you about what happens next.
