On March 28, 2023, InsecureWeb discovered a data breach affecting the Wattpad.com site. The breach resulted in the compromise of 268,765,495 user accounts, with 26.6 GB of data stolen. The compromised data included bios, dates of birth, email addresses, genders, geographic locations, IP addresses, names, passwords, social media profiles, user website URLs, and usernames.

Where and How?

The breach was discovered on a dark web forum and was posted on HydraMarket by Pavlov. HydraMarket is a well-known marketplace for buying and selling stolen data. The data was available for purchase for a limited time before being taken down.
