Data Breach Summary
On February 16, 2023, InsecureWeb discovered a data breach affecting the popular messaging app Telegram. A hacker known as twokaytwo posted a 500MB database containing 30 million user records on the website Nulled. The database contained sensitive information such as usernames, phone numbers, and email addresses.
Where and How?
The breach was discovered on the dark web forum, nulled.to. It is unclear how the hacker was able to obtain the data, but it is believed that they exploited a vulnerability in Telegram’s security protocols.
