Data Breach Overview
A forum user using the alias ChimeraZ claims to have leaked a database allegedly linked to Figaro Immobilier / Explorimmo, a French real estate platform. The post states that the leaked file contains approximately 100,000 records, stored in JSON format, with a reported size of 170 MB. The forum post was dated May 28, 2026.
The exposed data appears to include invoice-style records and customer/business information connected to real estate advertising and billing activity. An external report also describes the incident as an alleged 100K invoice leak affecting Figaro Immobilier / Explorimmo.
Where Was the Data Found?
The database was posted on DarkForums, a cybercrime-related forum where leaked databases and similar materials are commonly circulated. The sample shown in the post suggests the exposed records may include names, contact details, billing references, invoice information, amounts, business identifiers, email addresses, and banking-related fields.
Company Data Breach History
Le Figaro was previously affected by a major exposure in 2020, when an unsecured Elasticsearch database reportedly exposed around 7.4 billion records, including personal information of employees, reporters, and at least 42,000 users.
Impact and Risks
The leaked information could be misused for phishing, invoice fraud, business email compromise attempts, social engineering, identity theft, and targeted scams against customers, advertisers, or business contacts. Billing and banking-related fields may also increase the risk of fraudulent payment requests or impersonation attempts.
Recommendations for Users
Affected users and business contacts should change passwords if they reused credentials with Figaro Immobilier, Explorimmo, or related services. They should enable two-factor authentication, monitor email and financial accounts for suspicious activity, verify any invoice or payment request through official channels, and remain cautious of emails referencing real estate ads, billing issues, refunds, or account updates.
